Sterling Dormer Addition Gallery

This historic house was gutted in all but the kitchen and two bathrooms.  The clients lived elsewhere during the construction.  In the attic, new dormers were constructed to create livable space for two bedrooms and a laundry room (with a beautiful view!).  On the first floor, the living room, dining room, foyer, and a den were all restored.  On the second floor, a master suite with bathroom and closets was constructed.  The client phased this project, brining us in for the structural and framing work, windows and doors, roofing, and consulting on historic construction.  This project posed an interesting question regarding the new floors affecting the rise of the staircase, which would violate code.  To see the solution, click HERE.

For this project, the client smartly decided to phase renovations. The scope of work for this phase included limited finish details.

After completion of the rough carpentry work, the client brought in drywallers at a later stage of construction. Paul then provided finish carpentry.
